Ads and postcards for award-winning Stella Nova Spa Salon
Mention Stella Nova Spa Salon in Charleston, SC, and you'll see eyes light up. The client-focused salon and day spa boasts locations across the South Carolina Lowcountry, from Summerville to Mount Pleasant, and it has been honored by both Salon Today magazine and the Charleston Regional Business Journal as one of the industry's and region's fastest growing firms. The sight of its monthly full page ad on the back cover of Skirt! Magazine is one of the staples of life in this elegant, historic city.
For Stella Nova's 2007-08 series, Aio Design sought to present the glamorous side of this salon spa. The only guideline? Much of the marketing should mimic magazine covers. (Shown above: the 11 x 17-inch back cover of Skirt! Magazine's October 2007 issue and a spring 2007 postcard introducing a makeover series.)
A little known but fantastic fact: Stella Nova uses its own team members for both the photography and the models in most of its marketing.
The result? The makeover postcards garnered compliments even from jaded beauty/style magazine editors, and after the Skirt! back covers appeared, the salon spa received subscription requests to "Stella Nova magazine" from readers.
